I am a SAG-AFTRA eligible
SF Bay Area native and
NYC-based performer.
I went through a lot of phases growing up—from gymnastics to on-screen acting—but dance was the one thing I continued pursuing. Growing up in a diverse cultural scene was a constant source of inspiration. I started dancing hula and tahitian, then hip hop, and finally musical theatre dance styles (jazz and tap). My passion for storytelling stemmed from my Film/TV background. I had my first big break at age 8 when I debuted the voice of Karen McCormick on Comedy Central's South Park.
At age 10, I honed in on my musical theatre skills after playing Ancestor Hong and understudying Mushu the Dragon in Mulan Jr.—my very first onstage role! I continued performing in community theatre, school musicals, and dance shows.
Performing in different mediums was a journey of self-discovery, especially when I started competing in national dance/theatre competitions. My hip hop teen group, Poise’n Brigade, placed 2nd at World of Dance Bay Area. My role as Sebastian in The Little Mermaid, awarded me the Excellent Individual Performance at Junior Theatre Festival.
Being able to pursue my passion in the performing arts made me want to inspire younger artists to do the same. As a teacher’s assistant for youth dance classes, I led children’s theatre summer camps. I have choreographed dances for my school’s Japanese exchange program and showcases.
My love for collaborative movement and storytelling brought me to NYC to pursue the arts at Marymount Manhattan College. I graduated with a BFA in Musical Theater and a double minor in Communications and Arts Management (Academic Award).
What I love most about storytelling is how it transcends barriers and connects people. I’ve met my closest friends through performing. I feel most fulfilled when I get to create art with others.
I’ve taken an interest in producing and directing cabarets to continue creating in collaboration. I co-produced a show at The Green Room 42 titled “The BIPOC Cabaret,” which aimed to highlight, uplift, and celebrate the performers of color community at Marymount Manhattan College. Most recently, I made my 54 Below producing and performing debut with 54 Sings Hidden Gems: Our Favorite Selections from Song Cycles. Both cabarets had sold-out shows!
As a performer in New York City, I was fortunate to work under the directorial guidance of Michael Mendez in Marymount's Mainstage of Carrie the Musical. In my most recent role as a summer intern for iTheatrics, I explored my leadership and communication skills and accomplished workshopping new Jr. musical developments. I furthered my dance training as a recipient of the Richard Ellner Scholarship at Broadway Dance Center. My next creative endeavor is being a part of Baayork Lee and National Asian Artists Project's Broadway Community Chorus.
